Sometimes we all need a quick and easy breakfast to heat up in the morning. Save your morning sanity by making up a batch or two of these great waffles. They freeze well and are easy to reheat in the oven or toaster.
These waffles are made in a Waring Belgian waffle iron. Timing may vary slightly if your iron is different.
Gluten free Belgian waffles recipe
- 480 grams millet flour
- 20 grams baking powder
- 3 grams fine salt
- 20 grams maple sugar
- 6 eggs
- 240 mL olive oil
- 300 mL cashew milk [cashew milk recipe]
- 5 mL vanilla extract
- Palm oil shortening to grease waffle iron
Plug in the waffle iron so it can warm up.
While it is heating up, sift together all dry ingredients. Add oil, milk, vanilla extract, and eggs. Mix until combined.
When the waffle iron is ready, carefully grease the waffle iron plates with the palm oil shortening including all surfaces. Use a ladle or pouring cup to fill the plates. Be sure to cover all patterns of the waffle pattern. Close the waffle iron, and flip it until cooked (about 3 to 4 minutes for golden brown).
Makes: about 8 waffles.
