Easy gluten free teff brownies recipe

Teff and chocolate are the perfect flavour combination. The nutty flavour of the teff flour blends with and enhances any chocolate recipe. These brownies be made as-is or dressed up to suit any occasion. They are very rich, delicious brownies that are sure to please.



Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Combine eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, sift together salt, baking soda, tartaric acid, teff flour, and (if desired) cacao nibs until mixed thoroughly. Pour the liquid mixture into the flour mixture. Mix until just combined into batter.

In a large metal bowl, melt the palm oil shortening and chocolate together over a saucepan of hot water. Let cool slightly (2 to 3 minutes), than stir into the batter.

Grease an 8 x 8 baking dish. Transfer batter to baking dish and smooth out the top until level. Scatter nuts across the top (if desired).

Bake 40 minutes or until your tester comes out clean. Cool for 20 minutes, then cut into bars.

Servings: 16.
